Hello, my name is Yolanda and I’m 15 years old. I was born in Mandalay Myanmar in 2010, and had to escape Myanmar in 2022. I used to feel scared, even now It’s in the back of my mind that my home is changing for the worst, it makes me sad.. That changed when I came to Mudita. It reminds me of home, the people, the community, it provided a safe place for me to put my guard down. I was able to connect with others and make friends, I felt less alone. I came to Mudita in January of this year, and in 11 months, I can see how much has changed. Instead of bomb threats, I hang with the friends I've made, Play chess, practice guitar and draw. I love to study and challenge my self with new subjects. I don’t have a dream future goal right now, I’m just enjoying being able to live in the moment.
